Middle Street Pavement Reconstruction

Project Overview: The Federal Highway Administration’s Highway for Life Program addresses aging infrastructure, congestion, and safety. This project was conceived to be a pilot for the use of jointed and post-tensioned precast concrete pavement in Hawaiʻi. This segment of Middle Street is heavily used by commercial traffic produced by Love’s Bakery, the Oʻahu Transit Service (OTS) Bus Facility, and daily traffic from the adjacent H-1 freeway.

Construction Cost: $12,000,000
